Faith replaces Doubt. When thoughts of “I can’t” or “It’s not possible” creep in from time to time, I know I need to pause and switch up my mindset. Fear that we aren’t enough or can’t do it all comes up for everyone. It doesn’t mean you have to let these thoughts and feelings rule your life. Something I learned in health coaching school that has really helped me with this is the “crowd out method”. The way they use it is for food, if there is an unhealthy food you have as a go-to such as donuts, set a mental trigger that every time you crave a donut you reach for something just a bit healthier like a banana nut muffin sweetened with dates. I’ve found that this “crowd out” method works really well for my doubtful thoughts too! Every time those “what if’s” come up I remember to pause. I ask “How do I really want to feel about this?” and “How can I Empower and support myself in being someone who embodies this thing I desire to do, have, be?” or at least “How can I get my mindset and feelings to a place that’s a little bit better so I can move forward?” When I remember to engage this practice I inevitably remember my positive traits and then something interesting happens... faith enters. Faith in myself, my abilities, others, and the Universe, God, Source or whatever you call this power of Love holding us all in the fabric of life. When this works really well I get a boost of energy!
