[Checklist] 10 things to do in the last 10 weeks of 2020!

10/13/2020

Next week begins the 10 week countdown to 2021 - can you believe it?!  Now is a perfect time to refocus on what you want to accomplish and do before the end of the year. Below is a checklist of a few of my top suggested to-dos before 2020 is gone for good.

10 Essential Things To Do Before 2021 - in no particular order :)
  1. Smile :)  We have been through a roller coaster of a year, and with 10 weeks to go, it's not over yet!! Smiling, even when just doing things around the home by yourself, gives you a real lift. When you smile, your brain releases tiny molecules called neuropeptides to help fight off stress. Then other neurotransmitters like dopamine, serotonin and endorphins come into play too. The endorphins act as a mild pain reliever, whereas the serotonin is an antidepressant. BONUS points for laughing as well :)
  2. Write down 5 things you are the most grateful for. Gratitude helps to connect to the flow of abundance and bringing in good and beauty. Create a list, perhaps on a post-it note, and look at it each morning as you are getting ready. Really feel the gratitude and thankfulness for these good things in your life.
  3. Finish the ONE THING that's been nagging you FOREVER! What is it on your to-do list that should only take a few hours but has been there for a long long time? Schedule the date and time to take care of it before the year is up!
  4. Write poetry or journal. I write a few lines in my e-journal each morning and evening. I find it helps focus my mind and if anything is bothering me I can jot it down and then I don't have to think about it any more! I recommend using the Day One journal app. One of the best features is that once you've been writing in it for more than 365 days, they alert you to your entries on previous years on that date. I've found it helps me to put into perspective the progress I'm making and inspire me on.
  5. Bake a loaf of bread - As we turn to colder days of autumn, there is nothing like the smell of freshly baking bread in our home. It's also a wonderful mindful practice to knead the bread and then wait patiently as it rises. I recommend trying this vegan white bread recipe and then slathering with apple butter! Pair with a hot apple cider or herbal tea.
  6. Meditate for 5 minutes each morning. You've probably heard me say it before, but it's worth repeating. Meditation is one of the best things you can learn to do for yourself. I have a series of online classes coming up soon, so stay tuned for more info. Begin simply though, by sitting in a dimly lit room, in a chair with spine straight and feet flat on the floor. Focus on your breathing for 5 minutes as your body relaxes deeper and deeper. Once you have this technique somewhat down you can move on to more advanced meditation.
  7. Get deep into nature. Whether it's a short hike in the forest or a walk on the beach. Get away from the city and let your aura relax and expand! The Japanese have a term for this, "Forest bathing", and it is recognized to release tension and stress and promote a healthier state of mind and body.
  8. Call one person that you haven't spoken with in a while and you've been waiting for them to reach out to you. Instead of waiting for them to make the first move, you can decide to take action. If they really have been on your mind, perhaps there is a good reason why! Pick up the phone and find out.
  9. Give up a bad habit. Do you bite your nails, smoke, eat sugary snacks at 2am? We all have bad habits, but focusing on dropping one now means one less bad habit following you into 2021. I recommend the book "The Willpower Instinct: How self control works, why it matters, and what you can do." I enjoyed the audiobook version while baking my vegan bread ;)
  10. Volunteer your time to a worthy cause. There are more people in need right now. Just the other day I met a woman who works at a shelter in Everett and they are bursting over capacity, and I'm excited to help them very soon in the upcoming holiday season. Choose one cause and one thing you will do and make your impact. By helping each other we always find the way forward a bit easier.

I recommend choosing one of these for each week remaining in the year. Jot them down on your calendar or set an alert on your phone to remind you on the Sunday or Monday at the beginning of each week.

Sending you my very best :)

Sincerely Yours,

Beth Siragusa

[Tip] One powerful way to up your meditation game.

Meditation. If you've attended any class or session with me, you probably noticed that I mention meditation... a lot.

The ability to focus one's mind, to bring peace into the heart, and harmony into one's being and environment in the blink of an eye - sound appealing?

I know it did to me!

But... when I first began meditating, it was not like that. I struggled.

One of the issues I ran into was getting really stuck on "when is the timer going to go off" and "how much LONGER do I have???"  and it really was not getting me the results I was seeking.

In order to get my mind OFF of the time and ON to my meditation, I tried something different.

Instead of using the Timer feature, I tested out the Stopwatch on my phone.

What I experienced would change my meditation practice for good! Why?

(1) Because the stopwatch counts UP instead of down - as the numbers increase I feel more and more accomplished. I allow myself to slightly open my eyes and see how much time has passed, and this helps to ground me into my practice of meditation rather than draw my attention away from it.

(2) I'm not waiting on a Timer to tell me when my meditation is “done". This allows me to come to a natural stopping or pause point in my meditation practice and come back into the room gently in my own time. And I don't fell like a failure if I "am running out of time and haven't gotten anything done" or "don't make it" all the way to when the Timer goes off.

(3) Not setting a Timer takes my mind off of time and centers my awareness on being in the now moment. I can release thoughts of “how much time do I have left” (which is in the future) and places my awareness back in the present moment with “ok, I’ve been meditating for x minutes and I feel like I can go longer” or “I feel like I’m done for now.” I set a goal of how much time I would like to spend, but it can also flex organically.

Each meditation session is different and, unless you have a serious time constraint on your meditation time, it's beneficial for it to take its own course. The Timer can be jarring when in meditation as well, even if you have it set to a soothing or subtle alert sound, because meditation puts us in a deeper brainwave state.

Keep in mind that the amount of time spent is only ONE measure of a good meditation practice. Some days my meditation is short but super powerful - and it's exactly what I needed!

I hope this is valuable insider information for you to up your meditation game.

Let me know if you try this out - I'd love to hear how it works for you!

Kind Regards,

Lead with your HEART!

Picture
When was the last time we asked ourselves "What is really in my HEART?"

When we examine our heart with objectivity, we can begin to see clearly where our heart is leading us. But it is a bit of a mystery because from the time we are little, our true heart's desire is covered up by what we "learn" from both the hurtful and rewarding experiences, and through these experiences we begin to put limitations on our heart.

I remember being about 6 years old having an incredible imagination, and then being told that what I wanted to do in the world to help others probably wouldn't happen. I was given so many reasons why what I wanted to do wouldn't work. So much negative feedback on what I was doing wrong to not fit into what others wanted me to be. I eventually believed it and I gave up... almost... because my heart never really did give up.

Many years later I had an awakening at the age of 26. I wasn't looking for an awakening but it came! And with it I remembered all of the things I wanted to do for others, and my heart began to remember as well. I started the process of trusting my heart, and to truly lead from my heart for the first time in my life.

I invite you to contemplate the following questions -

"If I could do ONE thing to day to lead with my heart - what would it be?"

"If I could do ONE thing in the next year to fulfill my heart's true desire - what would I do?"

Maybe you don't know what your heart really wants - is it time to find out? Are you ready to remember that piece of yourself? Are you ready to do the self-work to bring out and express your pure essence?

The heart holds the blueprint of our deepest desires and also the understanding of what will bring us the most joy in our lives! Meditation helps to open this back up for us, and the sessions and classes help to heal old wounding which blocks us from the potential of living our true heart's desires, and empower us to live a life of deeper purpose and fulfillment.

And I know that we are living through extraordinary times - which in my view makes it even more important to keep in touch with our internal desires and guidance system.

One session in particular which helps to heal the heart is the Hermetic Soul Retrieval. This session brings back pieces of the soul which have been lost or detached through trauma or other events. Bringing these pieces back helps us to remember our true heart's desires and the passion to create joy, wonder, peace and prosperity in our lives for ourselves and to help others! I am offering this session at a special price along with the Life Activation session. You can pre-schedule these sessions now as we anticipate re-opening through the next phase in Washington state. Message me for more details if you are interested.

I invite you to think about the true instinct of our heart - is it to hate or to love? is is to be afraid or to have courage? is it to isolate or connect?

As a child, what was your first response? Was it to hate? Probably not. We learn these negative patterns along the way. We cover up our true heart's desire with bitterness and limitation.

These are questions we must ask ourselves, as each individual heart makes up the collective heartbeat of humanity. Every heart plays a role in creating the overall tone of our experience in this lifetime. And every heart matters!

3 Little Things to Boost Joy

#1  Nurture a plant.

This is a little mindful practice. Sitting for just a minute or two with your plant each morning. Sending it some focused love and attention. Tending to its needs and making sure it thrives will allows you the joy of simple connection to nature.
Picture
#2  Sing in the shower.

Your voice is a powerful tool for creating vibration through sound. You can sing anything that brings you joy! You may enjoy chanting or toning as well with a mantra such as "Om Mani Padme Hum" which brings in compassion and self-love.
Picture
#3  Light a candle.

Candlelight has a calming effect and reduces stress. Use an essential oil scented candle with grapefruit, ylang ylang or lavender to boost your mood. Setting a joyful environment helps get you in the joyful state of mind.

And of course through meditation - and other methods such as the Life Activation Session and teachings and tools of transformation in the Empower Thyself Program - we can boost our joy and enjoy life more!

#1 Tip for Relieving Stress

5/19/2020

Picture
I hear it all the time. The people I'm speaking with don't always say it outright, but I can hear it in their voice, the tone of the text or email. We are STRESSED.

And for good reason! Our world is rapidly changing and shifting. What we used to depend on, what we thought was solid and reliable, might not be around tomorrow.

I teach a class called Stress Rescue
™ in which I share the underlying causes and mechanisms of stress in our bodies and lives, as well as the 10 most effective methods for alleviating stress.

I'd like to share the #1 tip for relieving stress - Breathe.

By studying blood levels of stress hormones, experts have determined that your brain takes 10 seconds to recognize a "stressor".  This means that you have 10 seconds to pause, and inhibit the stress response. In that pause, you can give your brain the "information" that this is not a stressor.

The De-Stress Breathing Technique:
  • Breathe, slowly and deeply.
  • Count 5 as you breathe in.
  • Count 5 as you hold the breath.
  • Count 5 as you breathe out.
  • Do this 10 times!

This 10 second pause will buy you the time to make a decision BEFORE your body begins the stress hormone release that will alter your perceptual and physiological state for the next SIX HOURS!

Stress leads to many problems in our body, mind and emotions - such as:
  1. Increase in physical problems and illness
  2. Increase in problems in relationships
  3. Increase in negative thoughts and feelings
  4. Significant increase in bad habits or addictive behavior
  5. Exhaustion
If you are experiencing any of these, it's time to slow down and address your stress.

Through meditation - and other methods such as the Life Activation Session and teachings and tools of transformation in the Empower Thyself Program - we can alleviate not only stress and it's effects, but the causes of stress in our lives! We become proactive instead of reactive.

Keep in mind that I am offering support through these challenging times. Don't hesitate to reach out and we can schedule a time to talk.

I Have No Regrets.

5/12/2020

Picture
What would it take for us to speak these words and truly mean them?

Imagine that you are at the end of your life. You are reviewing all of the events in your personal history. What do you want to have seen, done, known, understood and accomplished?

What do you think that you'll regret if you don't go for it now? What are the things that you are doing now that don't really matter in the grand scheme of your life?

A hospic nurse wrote a book where she details her observations in the last 12 weeks of life, entitled "The Top 5 Regrets of the Dying" - here they are:

1. I wish I'd had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.

2. I wish I hadn't worked so hard.

3. I wish I'd had the courage to express my feelings.

4. I wish I'd stayed in touch with my friends.

5. I wish that I'd let myself be happier.

As I was contemplating this list, I realized that regrets #2, 3, 4 and 5 are all a result of regret #1.

Let's break this down a bit...

If we are doing work that we enjoy and makes us happy, we never work a day in our lives! Work won't be so "hard" and even when it is we know that it is worth it because it matters to us. The Mystery Schools have called this "Life Purpose" or our calling. It fulfills a deep yearning within when we are in alignment with and doing this type of work. We will feel the most joy that is possible when in alignment with our Life Purpose. The Life Activation is the first step towards finding and aligning with your Life Purpose, through unlocking the physical and spiritual DNA to allow greater access to our gifts and deeper understanding of our true selves.

When we are doing work we love, we aren't afraid to express our feelings and emotions. Why? Because our priorities are in order. We understand what's truly important and we aren't afraid to express ourselves. Our emotions are connected to a source of truth within, and these are really valid to pay attention to. Of course there is a balance, and the mind/intellect must be weighed against the feelings/emotions in order to have a balanced and harmonious life.

Also, this prioritization allows us to connect. We tend to withdraw when we don't feel like we're measuring up to some mark or goal. It's a tendency to "hide" or go inward. This isn't a bad impulse at all, in fact, it helps us to reconnect within to our true selves - if we allow ourselves the time and space to turn inwards and do that work. Unfortunately, there are so many distractions in the modern world it's so easy to become trapped in old habits and patterns or addictions or watching TV and scrolling through social media as a distraction, rather than do our own inner work to become clear about our lives and then connect with others from an empowered state of being. Can you imagine what those relationships would then look like?!

And finally - happiness comes from within and being here in the now moment. We tend to rush around and be really busy, or indulge in the many forms of distraction which prevent us from being truly present in our lives. But true happiness is felt in the moment, being present with all of our senses. And again, it's much more appealing to be present in life when we are doing fulfilling work and connected with that source of joy within!

Through meditation - and other methods such as the Life Activation Session and teachings and tools of transformation in the Empower Thyself Program - we can begin to transform our lives and ensure that we have no regrets!!

In my experience, living with no regrets isn't about making bold moves or taking big risks - though these can sometimes be a part of the process. It's about knowing oneself as fully as possible and living from the most authentic self and be able to stand fully in the light with no blame, shame or guilt. "This is me. This is who I am, and I am constantly evolving." And it really does take dedication, determination and practice to live in that state.

The Force is With Us.

5/5/2020

Picture
In metaphysical teachings, the imagination is one of the most powerful tools for transformation that we possess.

What we can see we can achieve.

The teachings in the Lineage of King Salomon expand up on this in the Empower Thyself Program. Delving into the workings of the mind, how thoughts impact every area of our lives, and how to begin to use the powerful tool of imagination to create our reality.

Yet, the mind and our thoughts are not all that we have at our disposal.

There is an energy, a force, a creational impulse which we can access from within. The Jedi in Star Wars were in part patterned after the metaphysical teachings - the Force is really with Us!

There is an underlying energy to everything.

This energy is what we tap into with our intuition. And we can learn to heighten our connection to our intuition with teachings and training. Our school system, for the most part, keeps us locked into our left brains - the logic brain. Yet, our right brain is where intuition is accessed. Except for the arts, the training of accessing and using our intuition is vastly ignored in current society.

Have you ever had a "gut feeling"?

Or have you ever just "known" something and not understood how? These feelings and insights are your intuition speaking to you. They are your connection with your higher self - that part of you that knows your highest good path. Wouldn't it seem useful to be able to access this?

Through meditation and other training and methods, you can! There are ways to develop clear, consistent and reliable guidance from your inner light - that part of you that knows your life purpose and the means to fulfill it. Your life purpose is what will give you the most joy in your life and allow you to share that joy with others!

So you see, the force is with us in every moment. It is within us and we only need to access it. And, like in the movies, we can use this force for good or not, the choice is up to us.

The teachings and tools in the Lineage of King Salomon have assisted humans for centuries to tap into the force within for good, and engage more fully with the present moment in peace and joy! I often hear from first-timers that it is Jedi training for real - or a real-life Hogwarts Academy!

As I look around at what is happening in our world and in my life, I am even more determined to share these teachings and tools of empowering ourselves. These methods create a firm foundation for a new life of peace and harmony to anchor in our lives.

Through meditation - and other methods such as the Life Activation Session and teachings and tools of transformation in the Empower Thyself Program - we can begin to free ourselves from the old baggage, unburden ourselves of past hurts and clear out the "mind clutter" which keeps us trapped in unhealthy patterns which perpetuate the hurt, pain and suffering into our future. We can then become aware of the pure essence of our being to access and use the force within for tremendous good!

What is Truly Essential?

4/27/2020

Picture
When it was time to choose a name for my business, I meditated and contemplated for weeks. I wanted to make sure that what I chose reflected the pure essence of the beauty and harmony which is transmitted and brought through the ancient teachings and healings in the Lineage of King Salomon through the Modern Mystery School.

And so Pure Essentials Light Center was birthed.

With all of the rapid shifts in the world many are asking the question: "What is essential?" We are reflecting on what is necessary, what is foundational... what is real and true.

These questions are not only at the heart of figuring out our finances and in business and economics, but also the crux of all relationships in our lives. Our relationship with ourselves, with our family, our career, our home environment, pets, etc. All of these relationships rest upon what we have decided - either consciously or subconsciously - about what is essential.

In the Empower Thyself Program, one of the main teachings is about what is a need versus a want. This is crucial because needs MUST be met in order for us to be able to fulfill our wants.

What do we truly need? What is essential? We must know this so that we can fully embrace our wants and soul desires to create and express our unique selves into the world and serve others in doing so!

At this time of great pause and reflection, it is essential to go inward, to begin asking the tough questions (if we haven't already) - and really take responsibility about what is working and not working in our lives - what is truly essential and what is not.

We tend to carry around a bigger burden than is necessary. We drag around old stories of when we've been wronged or hurt, all of our reasons and justifications for being rude, dismissive, walled-off or hateful, and our long-held beliefs based on the original wounding we received as a child (physical, mental & emotional). This non-essential baggage tends to define a much bigger portion of our lives than we would like or perhaps care to admit, but it doesn't have to.

We have the ability to choose to let things go. We can work on releasing ourselves from the painful parts of our past in order to create a new and exciting future. We can also choose to not let what's not working so great in our present to define our future. We can access, activate and amplify innate healing. We are more powerful than we know.

The teachings and tools in the Lineage of King Salomon have assisted humans for centuries to free themselves of their past, and engage more fully with the present moment in peace and joy!

We can then become aware of the pure essence of our being and recognize what is truly essential and what is not.

Access, Activate & Amplify Innate Healing

4/22/2020

Picture

As I embarked on my advanced training in the Modern Mystery School one of the first international programs I attended was called Healer's Academy. where I learned to perform the Life Activation Session, a powerful Aura Healing, and how to lead the Max Meditation System™.  I remember being very excited about learning alternative methods of healing. This training lived up to the hype and was life-changing for me.

Even though I've always known that I am here to support the world to heal, I didn't realize how deeply innate this ability to heal was within me - and within us all - until I attended this program.

As I've progressed in my training and experience over the years, I've seen more clearly into the underlying energy flow of illness and healing and what it takes to begin the process of healing and facilitate ongoing healing. Healing is a process of returning to a state of harmony both within and without.

First - Healing requires acknowledging that there is a problem. There is something not in alignment. What is not going well? There are likely some things that we can think of right now, but what about things lingering under the surface? This is where cultivating a deeper intuition and knowledge of self comes in.

And I'm going to put something out there that isn't a typical viewpoint, but my experience has led me to conclude that over a lifetime our overall health is determined by how well we truly know ourselves. When we know, we have the opportunity to make a choice or choose something different. Knowledge of the state of our health - physical and energetic - is power.

Second - And this is one of the most difficult steps... accepting that we need to do something about it. Once we have the knowledge that something has gone awry or is off track it may feel challenging to accept that this is happening or that we've created the conditions for disease, illness or poor health to manifest. We may feel shame, guilt or even blame about the situation.

It's very important to stay in our power and accept that no matter how this situation came to be, it is now in our hands to take responsibility for the decision of what must be done now and to take action. Bringing in compassion in this moment allows us to not stay stuck in the problem, but to move forward towards a solution.

Third - Reaching out for help in the healing process. It is true that we tend to underestimate how much power we actually have in ourselves to change, transform and heal. However, from time to time everyone requires a helping hand. Discerning what kind of support we need and from whom is an integral part of innate healing.

We are all connected together by an energetic fabric, and those with training and experience in healing can be an integral part of our healing process.

Finally - Once we have reached a certain part of our healing journey, it is time to shift focus and look at preventing misalignment and disease. What are the habits and patterns, maybe bad behaviors, which led to the imbalance or disease in the first place? What can we change or choose differently to be more in alignment with good health and thrive in our life instead of just survive?

In the ancient teachings, those things that we keep in the darkness will continue to sabotage us until we are willing to bring them into the light. Hippocrates said, “Healing is a matter of time, but it is sometimes also a matter of opportunity.” We are the ones who have the responsibility to create and be on the lookout for the opportunities to heal, grow and step into our greater potential.

One such opportunity which has been shown to access, activate and amplify innate healing is meditation. Modern science is now showing the benefits of meditation which are many.

Finding Light in the Dark

4/15/2020

In these uncertain times it is vital to continue cultivating a strong foundation. What do I mean by a strong foundation? Well, when the chips are down, what are the beliefs, knowledge, understanding and practices in your life that truly support you? What "holds you up" no matter what? That is your foundation.

Are you seeing a few places your foundation that could be shored up and made stronger? I know that I certainly am! And I'm willing to bet so are most of us right now. But this is a really good thing - this is an amazing opportunity for improvement in our lives! Sometimes only in times of upheaval can we see the weak spots and opportunities for expansion and growth.

One of the most stable pieces of my foundation is meditation. I dim the lights, close the door, curl up in a cozy blanket in my favorite chair, close my eyes and turn my attention inwards... and I always find the Light within the darkness.

I have been personally practicing meditation for 10+ years at this point and I recommend this practice to reduce stress, rebalance and center. Beginning each day from a place of relaxation and a peaceful mindset is highly beneficial - whether it is a typical day, or perhaps even more so during times of uncertainty like what's happening right now in our world.

Now... this is a dark time we are living through. So many people have been affected by the Coronavirus, some have made it through and some have passed on. My heart goes out to every single person who's lost someone and those who we have lost. To the healthcare workers and essential services employees helping those who are suffering and keeping things moving. Also to those who have lost their jobs, who are separated from family and friends and those of us feeling alone. I feel your pain and I have had moments of struggle of my own within these past few months of dealing with a new reality.

Yet times are never so dark that we cannot find the light, love and joy - even in these uncomfortable or even distressing circumstances. Darkness can never drive out light, yet light always drives out darkness. It is so important right now to find, appreciate and even celebrate the many reasons we have to be grateful. We can also find comfort and hope in the wonder, goodness and magick we have yet to create and experience in our lives!

This opportunity allows us as individuals to * pause * and reflect, refocus and redirect those aspects of our lives and ourselves which don't quite line up with our authentic self - that part of us which calls us forward to our greatness. And I cannot think of a more ripe opportunity to do so as humanity as a whole * pauses * and reflects, refocuses and redirects our perspective to hopefully one of greater unity as a human family. It remains to be seen, as it will rest on the decisions of each of us as individuals to add to this collective shift.

Sending you Love and Light,
Beth Siragusa
