Answer YES or NO to the following questions and tally them up at the end :) 1) I would rather spend my time watching tv, on the internet or reading than spending time with my family, friends or significant other. 2) I tend to put what others need or desire before what I need or desire. 3) My mode of operation is to survive - I have no idea what "thriving" would feel like. 4) I allow people to interrupt me a lot or I let them to talk as long as they want. 5) I can't cover my basic bills and/or spend a lot of time worrying about money. 6) I avoid meditation. 7) I have sacrificed something that brings me joy for something I've felt I "had to do". 8) Sometimes I agree with people to avoid confrontation or appearing like I'm "being difficult or stubborn or selfish or _____________". 9) I listen to music almost 24/7 to keep my mind partially off of the stuff I "have to do". 10) I have trouble planning ahead, so I spend a lot of time in "catch up mode". 11) I don't like to spend my money on classes or sessions (like massage) for myself. 12) I have to do everything myself. If I'm not doing it it's going to be wrong.
How Did You Do? Time to Tally!
If you got way more NO's than YES's - Congrats Rockstar ;) You kinda have your priorities straight, you likely have a healthy self-respect and an eye towards a lofty goal. Take care to look around and make sure you're nourishing your relationships with others, all Kings and Queens must take care to not only have healthy boundaries but healthy alliances with neighboring royalty as well.
If you got about 50/50 NO's and YES's - You may feel kinda balanced but really there's likely some rocky foundation under your decisions. Take some time to evaluate the questions you answered YES to. Where can you work on creating and enforcing healthy boundaries?
If you got way more YES's than NO's - It's time to step back a bit and have a heart to heart with yourself. Why are you spending your time away on people places and things which may not provide a good return on your investment? What Quality Time activity can you add in everyday even for 5 minutes to re-direct your time in a more positive way?
